The Link is a member of Fonebak, an industry-wide scheme to safely recycle mobile phones. In June 2003 The Link also launched Community Fonebak, a charitable scheme enabling community groups to raise money whilst recycling mobile phones.

The Link was voted 'Retailer of the Year' and received a special commendation for its work against mobile crime in the 2002 Mobile Choice magazine reader awards. The Link's commitment to beating mobile crime led to the development of the Immobilise campaign in conjunction with The Metropolitan Police in 2003.
The Link's annual sales in 2004/05 were £428 million.
